So far not overly impressed. The claim is if you put down before a snow fall that it will take care of up to 2” of snow. Put down in one spot with a fine mist and laid it down thick in another area. We got just a little over 1” of snow, and two days later the snow is still there. Earlier today I sprayed over the snow and still little to no diferance. The only good thing is at -2 there is no ice on the pavers or concrete. Not sure if there is other ways to apply this product, but I followed the directions and not sure this product lives up to its claims. Was hoping this was going to be the product for my company, but I will keep looking for other options.

The manner in which the product works can vary depending upon a variety of complex things such as extreme low temperatures and the amount of humidity in the snow. The timing of the application is critical as well. If it does not eliminate the first few inches, it might be because it was applied too far in advance of the storm. It is also possible that there was an excessive amount of water in the snowfall which quickly overcame the solution. Regardless, you should find a non stick effect and the product will act well as a low temperature spot deicer. Please continue to use the product and keep providing your feedback through a variety of storm situations.

I’m a long time user of Bare Ground snow-melt/deicer.
For those who are not satisfied, I would suggest they not wait until a storm is over. Even without Bare Ground, it is best to shovel while the snow is fresh and light.
Read the instructions again. The temp has to be below freezing before you apply Bare Ground. You still may have to shovel snow. But the difference is in the effort. With Bare Ground, the snow does not stick. You can use a shovel, and you will be amazed at how easy shoveling is. Where you have shoveled, the ground or walkway will remain free of snow for a long time.
Even with six or eight inches of snow, it comes up easy. What little snow flakes might remain, they will melt before you know it.
I’m one of those who always has clean non-slip walkways, while my neighbors seem to rather wait until the snow melts naturally. That is wrong thinking even if you aren’t using Bare Ground.
I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m thinking, when using Bare Ground, a good broom would be just as easy.

Too often customers think they have found the magic bullet for snow and ice removal. As you well point out, we are one in an arsenal of products to make dealing with snow and ice accumulation easier and quicker. Plus we have a USDA BioPreferred liquid for customers that are enviro conscious.

I am a new user living in Central PA. I am completely satisifed with the product. Today we are having a Wintry mix so I am waiting to see how it works on that. I have a suggestion as an alternative to shoveling. If the snow is light enough, I use a Backpack blower to remove the snow from my paved driveway/private road and than apply spray on whatever is remaining. It clears it all up and stays that way. I did have one question – how often do you need to apply? I had applied it on a Wednesday and then this storm was projected for Monday, so a 4 day span. I did reapply but didn’t know if I needed to.
I also used it to break down huge ice accumulation in my gutters.

I have a 9- car driveway plus a lengthy walkway and I’ll never use anything except Bare Ground! By the time I’m done snowblowing (about an hour) the first section cleared is, well, CLEAR! Within the next hour, my entire driveway is literally bare ground! Those reviewers who think this product completely clears fallen snow aren’t using it properly and seem to think it’s a magic bullet that negates the need to shovel at all.
One plow charge for my driveway would pay for an entire season’s worth of Bare Ground!
